I am trying to gauge some interest in having an open house at my shop in Luray, VA for OLF members and other friends sometime in January. The best time for me would be Saturday, January 13, 2007. Anyone interested? Ideas? Suggestions? |

I'm interested, it's a bit far for me though. Anyone have too many frequent-flyer miles? This should be a great time Sylvan. WE had fun at the Arkansas bash. Food? Fun, for sure. And Fellowship, par excellance! I'm bettin' you get a FULL HOUSE........ best wishes on this endeavor. |

Here is my thoughts. We'll give it a couple more days and then lock in Saturday, January 13. Once I know about how many are coming I will make the arrangements to have some food and refreshments handy. I think we can have some fun sharing ideas and thoughts. Besides, it will be fun meeting everyone face to face! |

Sylvan, I have a country place just down the road about 10 miles north of Mt. Jackson. I can't make a gathering in January but would like to visit the next time I get to the mountains. We live 600 miles south in Savannah so we don't make it there but a couple of times a year. Hope you get as few OLF takers for the January gathering. regards, Tom Armstrong |

Carpooling ... that's the spirit! Todd, you beat me to it ... I was going to offer Chris a ride as well. My shop is about 5 minutes from the Vienna Metro. Don, you are in Arlington? Need a ride? Sylvan, this is starting to look like a party ... sure you're ready for this? ![]() |

OK. Sounds like we are really going to have a good time. If anyone coming has any great jigs or fixtures which are transportable, bring them so we can all see the great ideas! Since there were no complaints about the date suggested, that will be the day. So, here is the official invitation: Open House at Wells Guitars 574 Hook Hill Road, Luray, VA 22835 (Check MapQuest or Google Maps) Saturday, January 13, 2007 10:00 - 4:00 (or whenever) If you are planning to come I would appreciate an acceptance via e-mail to sylvan@sylvanwells.com so I can try to make sure we have enough food and drink available! Todd - If you would bring some of those great bagels and awesome donuts it would be most appreciated! |
I head down there to Vienna Hardwoods every now and then. Best place in the area that I've found so far. Chris
I can pitch a stone and hit John's (Vienna Hardwoods prop.) front door. I'm directly across the park from him--a very short block. I set his resaw up last year ... have yet to go over and use it. |

Sylvan, Count me in. Sounds like a great time. Anyone interested in making this a "swap meet"-bringing zoot or whatever for sale or trade? (Obviously luthier-related goods- no boats or cars ![]() Jon |

Just to remind everyone, the open house is this Saturday, January 13! I am going to try to get some refreshments, etc. and generally clean up the shop before Saturday. I would really appreciate everyone giving me a head's up if they are coming so I can plan accordingly. See you on Saturday! |

Anyone thinking of driving up from east Tennessee. About 6 hrs on the road I think, each way. Possibly even pick someone else up on the way? Just thinking about it... |
